Spanish football powerhouse FC Barcelona has successfully secured a significant investment of 120 million euros ($132 million) from Libero Football Finance AG and Nipa Capital B.V. This funding injection is specifically designated for the advancement of its Web3 endeavor, Barça Vision.
In a recent announcement on August 11, FC Barcelona disclosed that it has divested a 29.5% stake in Bridgeburg Invest, the holding company overseeing Barça Vision, in exchange for the substantial capital injection. Barça Vision is a forward-looking initiative aimed at seamlessly integrating all digital content pertaining to Web3 and blockchain, including NFTs and the metaverse. These aspects form a pivotal part of the club's strategy to create the digital Espai Barça, marking a significant leap in the club's digital transformation.
